** External candidates who have not worked for the UVMHN in the past 12 months are eligible for a one-time sign-on bonus of $5,000 (prorated for part time roles). The bonus will be paid out as $2,000.00 following the completion of a successful 90 day orientation; the second installment of $3,000 will be paid upon completion of one year **

The Patient Access Specialist answers inbound calls for various departments providing front-line customer service to patients, physicians and staff. The Patient Access Specialist schedules and coordinates simple and complex patient appointments for respective clinics. Incumbent prioritizes patient problems and provides appropriate patient instructions. This position requires the ability to communicate in a clear, effective, and competent manner while providing welcoming and approachable service to ensure a positive outcome
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated customer service in a medical, fast-paced retail or other business environment. Healthcare call center experience that assists with scheduling in a Hospital or Medical Group Practice is preferred. EPIC experience preferred.
