He kōrero mō te tūranga - The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, service-centric professional to join and lead a dynamic team that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our Whaiora. We are looking for an enthusiastic Manager who has a solid background within in residential care of youth with varying mental health challenges and needs.
This is a full-time position, and you'll manage a team of 2 Mental Health Professionals and 7 Support Workers. You will use your skills and experience to manage a specialist team focused on delivering quality service to our Whaiora and the community. The Service Manager will be responsible for creating a therapeutic environment and ensuring our whaiora have mindfulness and the tools to achieve their goals.
He kōrero mōu - About You
We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident and compassionate to work in our service. You'll naturally be a problem solver, a quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community. You'll use your non-judgmental attitude and belief to encourage clients and staff to change and grow. You will be experienced in coaching, mentoring and rostering staff and supporting creative and innovative solutions for service delivery, and will be passionate about seeing people achieve their goals.
You'll need:
- In-depth knowledge and experience in working with clients who have high and complex needs
- Preferably a minimum of 2 years' experience of working in a health sector in a management capacity
- The ability to manage stakeholder relationships, working with whanau and family from entry to discharge
- Minimum of level 7 in a relevant qualification, mental health or health management.
A solid knowledge of the referral process as well and policies and procedures are fundamental to being successful in this role.
